The following information was supplied by Erith and Belvedere Local History Society:
'On 23rd June 1940 some of the boys travelled by train to Carmarthen, thence by bus to Whitland. They used rooms at the Council School, and the Vestries of Nazareth Baptist and the English Congregation Chapels, plus use of Whitland G.S.
The Erith parents presented a gift of £45 to Whitland to used as " Erith Prizes" in appreciation of the Schools welcome.'
